I never see it getting suggested as a 'What Car' option, which suprises me given the popularity of the P1 and P2 models on here.

Are they gash?

Seeing a nice T6 like this:

at that price makes me VERY interested.

That is very nice and with 285bhp it should move pretty well. Is it a tad on the cheap side though?

Guess anything with a combined 25 mpg is going to be in the bargain category.

Thought I had read on here that the Police were cancelling their V70 contract as they were more unreliable than the P2 versions but that could be bull.

For safe, effortless, spacious family motoring can you go wrong?

High running costs will obviously hit the value over the D5.

But if you can stomach that then they are hugely capable cars that have possibly the best seats out there.

Also there is huge love for the older turbo 5 cylinder engine and the S2 T5 is insanely cheap.

Great cars. Some of the most comfortable seats I've ever sat in. Lots of space as well. I remember the whole family sitting in an 07 E-class estate and then an 08 V70. The V70 had much more room for the rear passengers, both in leg room and in width.

Seems reliable as well so far.

I think they are great - theres a few within my extended family, but all D5s. Very capable car, well built, look good IMO.

Be careful with the gearbox, I dont know if Volvo had sorted it by this generation, but in P2s the gear-tronic is usually bad news.

The T6 is a wonderful motor, but not cheap to run by any stretch.

I would!
By that I assume you mean petrol rather than expensive things going wrong? Only do 5k miles a year so fuel not a problem.

I've had my V70 P2 T5 manual for years now. Clocking 168,000 miles and it did its usual party trick last weekend of swallowing a load of old fence panels and posts etc.

If I was being critical I'd say they are thirsty and (on the P2) the steering lock is quite woeful. I understand that they've improved this on the P3. I quite fancy a 2.5T manual with a remap and possible better flowing turbo/injectors to get to an old T5. The Asin Warner slush boxes are pretty grim - there's no drain plug facility on the ATF so they get sludgy and play up. It's a shame so many V70s are two pedal lazy boy slushers or they'd be more reliable.

I have recently purchased a 2005 V70 T5.

Great car, plenty of useable power and very comfortable.
Only criticism is that it can be a little wallowly when pressing on in the twisties.
Then again you stiffen the car up and it would lose it's comfort factor.

I think it is a very capable car with a real good turn of speed when required. For everyday use it is a great package, and i am sure that the T6 is probably even better.
