PR stunt on an ancient wall in China leaves tyre marks all over Ming dynasty era brickwork.

and reveals how corrupt local officials are - I suspect.

Don't panic though, there is precious little Ming era brickwork on the tourist parts of the Great Wall - it has been completely rebuilt with new stone. The Chinese have a different ideas about ancient things.

It wasn't the Great Wall, it was Nanjing city wall. It wasn't sanctioned by Ferrari SpA or Ferrari China. It was meant to be a static display and one of the dealer's employees took it upon himself to do donuts up there.

I think people have a right to be a little pissed off. It was disrespectful.

I like the way the authorities are on the one hand outraged by the 'desecration of a national monument', and on the other have banned 'Ferrari' in microblogs as it highligts official corruption...
