Yes, it is another 'what car' thread. I've never done this before and if I went through life never posting one of these I would feel somewhat, incomplete. So here it goes....

Had a great night last night, myself and four ladies bundled onto a bus, went to the City and got smashed.

One of my lady friends told me her car has died. It's gonna be uneconomical to get through the mot so she's after a replacement.

At the moment she has a Kia Sportage 4x4.
She needs something similar as she uses it to take the dog out for walks, it has a rear hatch door, which when open, protects her from the rain which she would like to have on her next purchase. She would like another 4x4 and there's seven grand in the pot.

So great and almighty PHers, any ideas would be most highly appreciated.

Well there's the obvious X-Trail, Santa-Fe, CR-V, Freelander etc. (i think they all have hatches? - Freelander maybe not)

She can go prestige with a fairly decent BMW X5 3.0d or even an early X3? Also is she doesn't really need a full-on 4x4 style car the budget will get an Audi A6 allroad 2.5 TDi Avant 04/05 reg with average miles.

Avant Allroad is a great idea, think just out of budget though for reasonable miles. Also a little thirsty.

Had a search and think the best value car is the Suzuki Grand Vitara, they look nice too. Unfortunately it's got the side opening rear door. frown

Found a 2007 with 29k miles, for £7495, thought there may have been something on the market for an easy erect awning for the rear of the car but can't find anything.
back to the search....

The original Honda CRV had a shower in the back - nothing new these days, I get doused every time I open the Mondeo hatch!
