Alloy wheel rings?

Wasn't sure where to post this, I've got new alloys coming soon but at the moment i can't get the alloys that are on off, they have these screw off security rings that cover the nuts, so you cant undo the nuts until you unscrew the rings.
I can get the back ones off fine but the front ones are seriously right and just will not budge, anyone got any ideas for what i could use to get them off? They are around 3 inches in diameter and i can't find a wrench that big!

Such a little thing stopping me from taking the wheel off!

Big Stilsons. Or if you never need them again split them with hammer and chisel.

I suspect a little copper grease on the threads would prevent this if anyone else has them.

What about those belts you can buy from Halfords for undoing tight Oil filters.

Thanks for the tips, I'll be sure to grease them up before I store them, got the original Enkei alloys coming for my Ignis Sport tommorow and I want them on for Japfest (Fingers crossed they come)

Wacky idea, how about using a spanner that's the right size for the nuts?

That way you won't damage the massive ally nut.

BBS do a plastic centre cap wrench for removing a similar cover - there might be a similar tool for that wheel manufacturer.

Not sure who the wheel manufacturer is, they don't say on the wheels, they said Concept Sports on the centre caps but I can't find them on the internet.

And as for the spanner, I can't find one big enough, I checked B&Q earlier.

Machinemart sell spanners up to at least 105mm AF. Measure across the opposite flats on the nut and google for spanners and sockets that size. Or you might find an oil filter wrench is the right size, or you could use an adjustable oil filter wrench and a ratchet.

A 105mm spanner will cost more than his new wheels. Spanners in the 40-50mm range are £40-50 too. I'd take a hammer and chisel to it tbh.

I borrowed a massive socket to do mine - you don't have to buy tools, you can borrow or hire them. My local hire place does big spanners.

Hammer and chisel will work, but also turns the old wheels to scrap. Borrowing a socket or an oil filter wrench from the local garage would be less distructive/fun.

Right, tried an oil filter chain wrench from Halfords and b&q, got the passenger side one off, but the drivers side one broke 3 oil chain wrenches... then we asked a local tyre fitting place, they had the oil filter remover that looks like a pod, the ring still would not budge and it broke there expensive looking tool, actually snapped the metal...

So going to try hammer and chisel next if that fails then circular saw it is, if that fails I'll be setting them on fire, if that fails I will be using some C4 plastic explosives.

Not happy at all, have 4 alloys sitting in my living room waiting to be fitted and 1 small metal ring is preventing it, also the alloy that won't come off is near bold...

I think god/karma/fate does not want me to fit these alloys!

Hit it with a blow torch, even a butane one. This has always been enough for me.
