Okay, so wifey has 2 cars. Mx5 mk1 1.6 on Classic Policy and a 1.8 mk3 Cavalier which we've had 12 years and my FiL had 8 years.
Son is at university, and passed his test in November 2010. Will be 19 in June. Back for summer 1st July for 12 weeks.
It would be useful to get him insured as a named driver for those 12 weeks.
Now the car is 20 years old, and it normally does 2500 miles a year (wifey works from home and does same distance in the MX5), so here's the question:
Will a classic Policy be cheaper ? Will they add him as a named driver ? - it's not like we can be accused of fronting as we've not bought the car for him, in fact it's not exactly the car you'd choose for cheap insurance.
Had 1 quote via direct line of £1485 Fully Comp, and I figured that 3 months plus the admin fee will cost £400, if we cancel it when he goes back to uni.
This is about £4.25 a day (Which Sounds better)
Any road up Direction I should be looking ?
