Could you run a supercar for 1 year for 10k?
Discussion
I'm having bad thoughts about getting something daft, just for 12 months to say I've done it.
I can get the money to buy the car but I must get a good bit back at the end of the 12 months,
Ferrari 360 - £40k
Insurance - £800
Fuel over 5k miles - £1800
Consumables - £1200
Service - £1200
Depreciation - £5k or end sale price £35k
Thoughts?

Would it really lose 5k in a year and 5k extra mileage? I would have thought a car like that would have already done the bulk of it's depreciation by £40k... Then again I have absolutely no idea. Fuel over 5k miles - £1800
Depreciation - £5k or end sale price £35k

I'm pretty sure you wouldn't lose 5k in a year by only adding 5k miles, a 40k 360 is at the lower end of the market but I saw a 40k 36 recently and couldn't really fault it. Just buy wisely and it's definately doable, but as others have said parting with it in a year after you've had the taste of a Ferrai will be the difficult bit

Dont know what UK prices are doing on ferrari's but here 40k (or 55k euro) wouldnt really find you a whole lot of 360s, a decent 355 perhaps, and a whole load of 308/328/348s
If your objective is to do this without losing lots of money i'd suggest finding a ferrari which has had a boatload of maintenance lately, rather then finding a cheap 360. If something goes bang on those cars, youll be losing money hand over fist.

if you can afford to - do it. May be tough to walk away in 12-months time though...
