I need to respray a bike and I want to choose a colour I can get easily.
So I thought I'd just choose a nice bright red metallic, from a popular car maker - should be easy?

But no, red just doesn't seem to be 'in' right now, it's all grunge colours with a few dark pearls thrown in.
The closest I have is Audi Garnet red metallic, Mini does a nice red but I think it's flat.

So where are all the bright red metallics?
Maybe I should go for a flat + lacquer?

Any painters in the house?

I've been mulling over the Solid red used on the Fiat 500 for my caterham. I think it looks great when clean.

Lexus Red on the outgoing GS is a beautiful colour when the sun shines on it.
Plenty of flake to sparkle and shimmer.

That's got Lacquer on top to make it look that deep yes?
It does look good, I have made a note!

Some of the other reds are good but too wine-like, the missus has banned anything that looks like wine for some reason frown

Mazda do a similar one called Velocity Red. It's slightly less burgundy with a nice fleck to it.
