Who do people view as the ultimate supercar dealership. I know there are the franchised dealers and then there are the independent supercar dealers. I've had a look around and some I have dealt with myself but I'm interested to see if people have had any experience with them or if people hold a certain dealership in high regard that they can be thought of as the best supercar dealer in the UK. Here are my thoughts:

HR Owen - Franchised dealers for Ferrari, Bugatti, Pagani, Bentley etc. - a public corporate company that are probably the best known but I have heard not always good things when dealing with them. High prices as well.

Stratstone - Franchise dealers for Aston Martin, Ferrari and Land Rover - good prices but I have found they have bad service and don't call back and are tough to negotiate with.

INDEPENDENTS

Romans International - I bought a car from them a few years ago, they had incredible supercars in their showroom, Enzos, Carrera GT, Bugatti and plenty of others. Very well thought of in Surrey, I managed to get a DB9 volante from them!

Tom Hartley - They have impressive stock, haven't been to showroom as up in the north but interested to know if anyone has dealt with them.

WIlliam Loughran - I almost bought a car from him but was slightly overpriced. Very reputable dealer with some incredible cars, would definitely buy a car there if i had more money!

Top 555 - I think these guys are fairly new but got a showroom up in midlands. Never dealt with them but got some very nice cars

Clive Sutton - Had a terrible experience with these guys in London, he made an offer on my car and then refused to pay me but still wanted my car in their showroom on SOR! Got a few good supercars though!

Amari Supercars - Asian based place seems to specialize in Lamborghini and Maserati but seems to be a reputable dealership.

Interested to get other opinions....

About 12-13yrs ago I used to work at Ron Strattons in Knutsford and it was a great place, we were Rolls-Royce and Bentley franchised dealers bit also sold all sorts of other exotica. It was a small but very friendly company. Sure we charged high prices and made a good profit, but all our customers loved us to bits as we really looked after them well and every sale was a 'win-win' outcome.

Now part of Sytner Group their McLaren showroom in Knutsford looks the dogs dangley bits!

I would say that a lot of them don't even compete directly with each other, though there is a fair amount of overlap. Depends what you're looking for, where in the country you are, as to who would be best for you. "Ultimate" means many different things to many different people.

So which one does your friend work for?

I just went on Bob Fostners site, i can't seem to find many cars for sale. I think he is one of these dealerships that list a load of cars they don't have. I also heard half the staff have left Bob Forstner to start up their own dealership and taken Koenigsegg with them. HR Owen have taken Pagani so I don't know what Bob Forstner has left.

Dick Lovett. Not sure if it is the best supercar dealer but the name makes me chortle.
