A EV concept from those crazy people at volvo. Who naturally are concerned about cold conditions.

Their solution is to fit the car with a ethanol powered heater.

For those that are interested in EVs its a solution to a problem of not having a big hot thing under the bonnet which pisses energy away in the form of waste heat.

To those that hate EVs it is an ambition that all EVs are a total failure and will turn you gay.

It's a fairly obvious solution really. Oil does a great job of producing heat!

A friend has a 2kw lorry heater in a garage, and he gets about 10 hours/litre.

I think a small version of an Aga is required. Wood powered, of course. It could even have a small boiler attached to generate steam to run a turbine/generator to keep the battery topped up. And a whistle to let the proles know you are coming through.
