On the M4 this afternoon, in the 'hairdresser mobieel' with the roof down, doing about 60, when the road suddenly cleared and there was virtually no cars around....

When I spied through the rear view mirror something big, black and menacing approaching...

The driver had clearly seen that the road had suddenly cleared too, and had 'lit the blue touch paper'in a very big way.....

BhaaaammmmmMMMMMMMM!!!!!! is the best way of describing what its like to be in a Z3 with the roof down as a Nissan GTR on full attack mode blasts past (within what, three feet) accelerating as hard as possible and probably going past at 140mph+.....

It was really something. Next to the Z3 (which is lowered too) it was a bloody big monster of a thing, snd roared by!

Had the same experience with the 700bhp "Envy" Supra while I was in my old Fiesta 1.3L Fiesta. I was going flat out in 5th gear and struggling to reach 70mph, the Supra came ripping through on full boost. Absolutely astonishing the way it picked up speed!

The Envy Supra is currently on sale at an importers in Newcastle at he minute, shame it looks so ugly as for the price, which is not cheap, it probably represents good value for money for the work it's had done.

I was in this - very low to the ground, roof down, windows down.

Can you imagine what its like having a GTR blast past at only a few feet away..... in full attack mode?

It was like a Topgun style flyby....

This is where I think you're wrong. How hilarious does a standard V70 going 140mph look? Very.

And no, it's not standard. The 3inch downpipe and Milltek attached are the start of that

I found the T5 to be a bit lacking jumping between my 250hp celsior and my mates 2001 T5 V70

He has since had it remapped for a big jump in performance, it certainly feels much quicker.

It's more about the torque delivery, the stock T5 just doesn't have the shove the V8 does, despite being similar on paper.

They're not great from the box - restrictive pipework and exhaust and manifolds don't help. But once those are addressed

Anyway, my car sounds very unique and can be heard from a good distance when you want it to be - hence my earlier comment

The one that sticks in my mind was a Mitsubishi Galant VR-4. I was a passenger gazing out the window down the A12, the Galant was parallel. He put his foot down and fking hell short of some proper nutter stuff at Santa Pod I've never seen anything - including Porsches, Ferraris, anything - take off so fast, with so little fuss, and such a muted sound. God knows what it was running but it was the best sleeper I've seen to date.
