For some reason, no matter how much I love a car, after i've oned one about 6 months I all of the sudden want to change.

Currently on a very good condition BMW 328 sport, which I love driving and could very well see myself owning for a long time - It ticks every box.

But...Now i've just had it over 6 months i'm fixated on getting a 740 sport, knowing it (should) be more to run (I'm mostly a uni student, with a sideline) and thinking rationally would be a bit of a daft thing to get. But. yep. I'll get one.

Has anyone else ever changed from a car they're very happy (and not bored) with for no apparent reason other than a compulsion?

Yep, happens to me consistently at 6 months too, I have 2 cars I stick with and 1 or 2 permanently in rotation with the current one to hit its 6 month stage oddly being a 740 I bought in January for no huge reason to replace an XJ8 from 6 months before!
Sadly the outgoing 740 is a tad tatty and borked and not a sport so no good for you.

Apart from the tattyness...would you recommend one? hows the ownership experience been?
