Shocking car v bike behaviour.... Stunned by it.

Today on a B road over the back of Goodwood we (the whole family in the quattro) were pottering along following a black Jag saloon (04 plate - didn't note the rest), anyway, presently a group of motorbikes arrive behind, all well behaved and in single file, they pass our car without issue.... 100 yds ahead..... However....
The Jag driver (looked well into his 60's), no idea why, finds six or eight bikes a bit much, so, after the first five or six go past, decides to openly 'block' the rest... Progressively getting worse until the last poor sod, on an open, straight section, with the Jag at 50 mph, has to take evasive action to avoid the Jag as it veered to the right hand verge...
I've seen some hateful driving in my time, but that was pretty much the biscuit...
We were quite shocked really.

What perplexes me about these situations is why on earth would a 60 year old (or even a martial arts champion in his 20's) want to argue with a group of bikers?
He may well have gone home thinking he was a hero for doing what he (wrongly) thinks was aiding the police, but he really should be aware just how lucky he is not to have been beaten to within an inch of his life.
(I am presuming he is one of these clowns who are so affected by the 'speed kills' campaigns that he thinks anyone overtaking must be a speeder and therefore must be 'educated'.....there are more and more of these people out there than ever before).

Some bikers are called steve and have two daughters, and teach science at the local school.

I saw a similar thing quite a while ago & chuckled to myself when the bike the driver had purposely swung out to block stuck on his blues & twos 
. How the driver couldn't see the fully liveried up Police bike and rider in his hi-viz kit I'll never know, but I suspect he got at least an ear-full.

Still, looking on the bright side, at least he realised the bikes were there, which is more than some do.

We have no idea what went on before the event. A fair proportion of weekend riders seem to need the added thrill of what could be perceived as anti-social behaviour (i.e. scaring 60 year olds in Jags) to top off their day out. So maybe he had encountered something earlier that had made him angry, or maybe he was just a pillock. Who knows ?Edited by Noger on Monday 14th May 07:09
