Anyone know if they definitely allow points on license before hiring a car? I phoned last week to check but the guy didn't sound too confident!

Which country are you hiring in? If in North America, no issue. As long as you have your photocard, the paper part is ignored.

If in the UK, as long as you're not disqualified, again, you're fine. stipulation is, as long as you meet their age requirements and hold a valid license. You're good.

Used to work for them so know the answer is yes, but it depends what they are for.

Speeding up to 6 points was no problem.

Drink driving and no insurance are more problematic.

Any rental is at the discretion of the individual branch though.

This info is based on renting in the UK. If it is about renting in the states they probably dont even know what points are!

OP. Might be an issue dependant on the endorsment TBH. Never had an issue hiring in the UK with an SP30 (speeding) but I imagine dangerous/drink driving could possibly cause a problem.

They are usually a pretty helpful bunch so Id give them another call and find someone who knows.

You might not always get the class of car your expecting, we use them for work a lot and always book class B cars, the last 3 out of 4 cars theve gave me have been Chevy Sparks, horrendous and Group A, not B.

Yeah it's in the UK. Got 5 points now and 8 in total from the last 5 years. Was going to go for Class A but Class B was only £3 more for 6 days hire.
