Garage fit out
Discussion
I layed carpet in my garage, much more comfy for laying down on for those awkward jobs.
For fitted cabinets anywhere that does kitchens can help. I just left a couple of wardrobes in there.
If you really want the floor painted just buy the paint, drop the tin on the floor and push the spill around with a mop - you don't need a contractor to do that for you.

Another vote for carpet - also very good at keeping the dust down, just needs a quick vacuum now and again.Needa308GT4 said:
why would you want to paint your floor when you could have it tiled for probably the same price.
Tiled floors look STUNNING in a garage.
And I have LOADS of large quantities of good, very posh, commercial tiles available.
Finished your hard sell yet?Tiled floors look STUNNING in a garage.

Painting is by far simpler and cheaper if you just want something functional and not cosmetic. Only tip I would give is to get a proper industrial/garage floor paint, it'll resist oil and fluid spills much better than normal stuff.

Jesus! I obviously need to see you if you can do me a decent quality tile, adhesive and grout for my 6 car garage cheaper than I can paint it with 2 pack industrial floor paint..Tiled floors look STUNNING in a garage.

Paint is absolutely no good for a garage BTW. Been there done that several times, however well you prepare the floor and however much you spend on the paint it always picks up after a bit, it chips, and tyre colour transfers to it.
Plastic floor tiles look great and are a long term solution. Dead easy to lay too, you don't need to bond them to the floor just slap them down and trim around the edges.

Paint isn't great, hot tyre pick up is a pain. Within a day or two the paint will be lifting off. Very disappointing. Maybe there's a sealant/preparation that can be put on the floor first to help the top coat stick, but how much better I don't know. I've just re-done the garage floor this year and it's picked up on the tyres already.
If it was me, doing it from scratch I'd be ordering coloured cement fo the floor. Same as is seen on drives, just without the nice patterns imprinted into is. But it sounds like this is too late for you.
How is tiles or the rubber matts I've seen elsewhere if your using a trolley jack?
