Not me. Not even heard of anyone getting caught. Has anyone else?

Don't know anyone but recent experience of a 40mph average speed on the M50 showed cars sliding along at 35mph so I think it is far more loathsomely effective at making you reduce your speed. The big yellow eyes underlined they were serious too.

Big signs, of course, saying it was to protect the workers who, being Sunday, were all notable by their absence.

Anyone know what the threshold is?

I tend to stick to no more than 10mph on top - where it is safe - like the miles and miles of low speed area following a road-works section

I tend to stick more or less to the limit allowing for speedo error, but my personal suspicion is that the 50 limit cameras on the motorway are set to 70.

While sitting at 50-odd in the limits I often see people going past significantly quicker. It does make me assume they know something I don't. For the sake of an extra 15mph on a half mile stretch of boring motorway I don't plan to risk the points, however.

Lowest I've heard of is 56mph in a 50 I believe

Over 3,500 motorists have been caught speeding in the average speed cameras north of the Forth Road Bridge on the A/M90 since they were introduced in December.

I follow the speedlimit.

Strangely I have normally re-passed all the cars that creep by me at 56mph within about quarter of a mile of the NSL sign smile
