Is it just me or do you find it annoying how insurance companies all use different systems for recording no claims bonus? I must have 10+ years of NCB but because some companies state "maximum 5 years" etc, I've ended up going from 8 years to 5 years to as it stands, 7 years, even though I have much more! The problem is, without keeping copies of certificates since the beginning of my driving life, how am I suppose to know where I'm up to!?!?

How do you get around this, do you generally just find yourself ticking the maximum box, what ever that might be depending on the insurer, or do you go specifically off the last certificate, even though you know the figure is wrong?

You should be able to get a letter off them stating how much bonus you provided them and how many claim free years you've been with them.
