Rewind 30 years-You're Looking For A New Car...

I'd get one of thos new rotary powered Mazda RX7s. I hear they've fixed the early reliability problems and with fuel being so cheap I'm sure 19mpg will be fine.

I actually came very close to buying one of these in 1992 for £3995 but bought an AX GT instead (which would have made a very annoying "what car?" thread).

I did buy one of those in 1992 but it had no rust as it was in California. It cost $1100. Fantastic fun for the money!I actually came very close to buying one of these in 1992 for £3995 but bought an AX GT instead (which would have made a very annoying "what car?" thread).

I actually had one of those exact cars, though it was 1990...loved it to bits as it was my first car. Mine was metallic silver green though. RJR 19 Y, I'd love to have that plate now, just for sentimental reasons.Dave Hedgehog said:
I had one exactly like that 30 years ago! EDIT: Not like the one above, a proper/original one with 3 speed 'auto' shifter and one piece seat.Aged 10, I would have been drooling over a 262c. Chopped, pimped Swedish brick pron.

BMW E12 M535i for me: 218bhp, loads of creamy torque, a dog-leg close ratio 5 speed gearbox and an LSD, all on skinny tyres with Recaro seats in doors - perfect..

Gorgeous car but it is secondhand. The E28 came out last year. I could be tempted into a nice 528i SE, in silver, full oxblood leather interior with all the options ticked. The 535i isn't due out for another couple of years yet.
