Anyone driven a W8 Passat?
Discussion
I thought the W8 was really an exotic myth untill one passed me in France a few weeks ago, er indoors thought Id lost the plot when I squeeled with excitement at the sight of a VW Passat!
Also saw endless Dacias including the exciting new 7 seat Lodgy and more C6s in one day then Citreon uk sell in 5 years, oh and a few Phaetons in Germany too, exciting bland but interesting car times!

+1 We were in France last week and saw a few Dacias, and loads of those funny little Aixams. Kinda wish we'd got one of those as a hire car, rather than the s
tty (and HUGE!) Corsa.Sorry, off topic. I've heard they're not as fast as they should be. Also, W8 is stupid, just stick a V8 in.
I have one. Its my 3rd 8 cylinder wafter, after a C43 AMG and a B10 V8S.
Its slower and a lot less sporty than the previous two, but has them both trumped when it comes to quality of noise....not that the previous two were poor in that aspect, far from it
The slowness doesn't bother me, if anything it means I get to hear the noise for longer as it accelerates, however its a 4wd so much less fun when powering out of a slightly slippery junction.
Not a sports car by any stretch of the imagination, think of it more as a mid-sized Yank style V8 and drive it accordingly. Gorgeous noise, not all that quick but very comfy. Keeps me smiling
The only bit of advice I'd give is to find one with a manual 6 speed. I don't have anything against slush matics per se, but the one in the Passat is painfully slow.
