Mitsubishi Shogun 3.2 DiD, any info??
Discussion
I'm looking at a Mitsubishi Shogun 3.2 DiD. It's a 2001, 1 owner and in immaculate condition. It has 114k miles on the clock, which doesn't really phase me, but should it? I can't really find much out on these, but assuming that it has a full dealer history, and it's a Mitsubishi Shogun, I'm thinking it should provide another few trouble free years of motoring!! Am I far wrong? Does anyone own one here or know much about them??
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.
3.2 DiD is a good engine, a bit noisy, but loads of low down power. The (5 speed) auto is a really good gearbox works well on these cars.
I've got a 7 seater LWB 2004 done 99k with fsh, has been very reliable, will do just over 30 mpg on the motorway.
How much is the 2001 advertised for? I am selling my 2004 for £5.5k and not getting much interest.
There are loads of 3.2 diesel shoguns out there with huge mileages they are pretty tough old things 100+k is nothing to worry about.

It's up for £4k, which I thought was really good. It's a trader, so hopefully he'll take my old Pajero 2.5 off me as PX!I've got a 7 seater LWB 2004 done 99k with fsh, has been very reliable, will do just over 30 mpg on the motorway.

I thought they were pretty reliable, but thought I'd ask the masses for an opinion, so thankyou.
Used to sell them. They are very very good offroad and very reliable and durable provided they are maintained properly. Just go with one that has a very well documented history and give it a good full service as soon as you take it in just incase.
Word of warning! They are highly targeted by undesireables. They seem to tick the boxes of certain types and go missing more frequently than other well respected 4x4 brands. If the car doesnt then watch your CAT.

This is good to know. The one I'm looking at has a full main dealer history by the one and only owner, so should be ok. It's due a service, so would be done immediately if I buy it.Word of warning! I've had a browse of the classifieds and 114k seems like nothing in comparison with some!!
I'll be keeping the car in the garage at night, and to be honest, will rarely leave it anywhere for the undesirables to target, so hopefully, if bought, I'll be ok, but thanks for the advice/warning!
When I sold them we had the undesireables coming in during the day looking at the cars to 'buy' then breaking into the compound and literally stripping the cars of all they could. Happened twice in my time there. Bearing in mind it was a Nissan, Mitz, and Fiat place with a few really decent cars they ONLY went for the shoguns.
