Have you ever been "sold" a car?
Discussion
I guess we're not typical car buyers in general here on PH, but it crossed my mind whilst reading the "do I want to be a car salesman?" thread that I don't think I've ever been sold a car, as in talked into it.
I've got such a clear idea of what I want that I've pretty much made up my mind before I even get to a dealership, so all I'm seeking to do is confirm a decision is correct by test driving, or maybe checking the competition to be sure I'm correct about what's best for me, but mainly to check the car I'm interested in and then to negotiate the deal.
Just wondered whether anyone feels they have been "sold" a car, ie talked into it by a car salesman?

never, I don't think it will ever happen either.I've got such a clear idea of what I want that I've pretty much made up my mind before I even get to a dealership, so all I'm seeking to do is confirm a decision is correct by test driving, or maybe checking the competition to be sure I'm correct about what's best for me, but mainly to check the car I'm interested in and then to negotiate the deal.

I have never been 'sold' a car, as with you, I know exactly what I am after.
However I have been 'sold' two items.
1. A stereo upgrade to our Mini One. No regreta on that TBH.
2. An extended warranty on our 156SW. Wasn't worth the paper it was written on. Sold a complete pup - however luckily the car didnt need for anything.
