Junction Etiquette...Am I the only one?

No, really...Am I??
Junctions...They are relatively simple to exit out of even at the worst of times. However, the task of getting your car onto the road safely can be ruined by one impatient twazzock.
There is a junction I have to use occasionally. It's rather wide, which means that it's not uncommon for people going in the opposite direction to wait side by side...That's fine.
So there I am, coming upto the junction. I indicate left, and get into position and wait for a gap. This junction puts you onto a very busy road where people are going 60-70mph, so making sure you have space is a must. Oh, looks like a gap! I better prepare to pul....Nevermind. Some scrawny looking dirty little b
d has decided to put his great big sprinter van next to my car. As a result, I cannot see fk all and will have to wait for this limp dick ahole to move before I can even attempt to get out the junction...Doesn't matter though, as someone will replace this tt and again block my view, by which point I will have rather frustrated people blaring there horns at me. I am then faced with the decision of either waiting for the idiot to move and try again, or pull out at the same time while leaving a smoky trail of 11's down the road.
Comfort me PH. Is it just me that gives people a clear view in wide junctions, or I forever deemed to stare at someones car door while attempting to exit a junction?

Sorry, but no. What do you expect the driver turning right to do? Wait for you to go? I suggest you improve your observation skills.
Now what really boils my piss is in your situation only there is already a car waiting at the junction ready to turn right - only he isn't close enough to the centre line, and doesn't leave enough room for you to get past and turn left

This. If you think you're reasonably likely to have your view obscured by a vehicle, stop a vehicles length from the line and ensure visibility regardless...heebeegeetee said:

This is what I do whenever pulling upto the junction. However, seems like the other who replied are tosspots who do the complete opposite.And sorry, but did I see someone suggest going a cars length over the line?? If I was to do that, I would be in the middle of a 60-70mph road which has a almost constant stream of cars going through it. I quite like being alive thanks!
I've turned into a bit of a bd about junctions.
If I want to turn right at a junction, I go and sit as far left in the lane blocking anyone who wants to turn left who would normally block my view. Turning left is ok though as it's easier so no need to go to extreme blocking measures.
I now treat junctions as a queue, if I am in front, I get priority to view left and and right as I wish, and I am the first one to pull out.
I hate sitting at a junction, every 10 seconds a person blocks your view on the left or right. Sometimes it ok as you can see through their windows but sometimes it isn't.

I suggested a cars length from the line, as in before the line. So you're stopping a cars length before actually reaching the junction - yet leaving room to look past any vehicle that's either blocking your vision, or foreseeably likely to. Comprende?I can't really comment without knowing the topography of junction itself though. Worst case scenario it's a case of "deal with it", and just getting on with your life.

This works, both parties can still see and it keeps the traffic moving. Sadly about 99% of people aren't smart enough to manage this.Edited by heebeegeetee on Monday 21st May 07:23

I might get one of them. It's a bugger trying to get out of a junction in such a low car - I tend to use my ears/reflections in cars parked over the road/shop windows/The Force.
