Taking cas registered in the Isle of Man to the UK

I am hoping that someone on here could help me out here.

I am looking at a car for sale, spec is good and just what I am after. The only thing is the car is registered in the Isle of Man and I live in Scotland.

I was just wondering if the car had to be reregistered or anything or if it was ok to buy it and simply drive it across?
If I do have to reregister the car is there any tax issues etc? For example I know if you take car in from the EU (for example Spain) there is no tax as long as you have owned the car for 6 months.

No problems at all, just needs MOT and then apply for reg number, no import duty of vat to pay, just the high ferry cost.

My BMW was originally from Jersey and the owner had to pay VAT on it when he moved over to London with it, even though he'd owned it for a couple of years.

I believe the Isle of Man (like the Channel Islands) is not part of the EU.
