Just thought I'd share this.
Back in October 2000 when I was 7 and possessing more than a passing interest in cars which was growing bigger, my dad bought me a copy of Classic Ford magazine in an attempt to steer me away from the Max Power and Fast Ford magazines I was desperately asking him for. As I flicked through it, in the classifieds a white mk2 RS2000 caught my eye and my imagination like no car before or since; I pretty much obsessed over this car (at a meagre £1700 ono), and still remember a lot of the details of the advert now (87,000 miles for example) and the number plate; ONH33P. I wanted to know everything about the Escorts, and old Fords in general. How they worked, the history, everything, and for my birthday that year my parents bought me a subscription to the magazine taking my interest to another level.
In essence, that RS2000 is the car that got me into cars, and it's for sale on ebay. If it was a few months down the line I would be able to afford it, but sadly it's not meant to be this time around. First thing I'd do is remove the bodykit - other than that, leave it white with black roof and it's a nice looking thing even today
I hadn't realised just how big an impression it had made until seeing it now to be honest.
