Are there any cars that should appeal to you, whre all the press and owner reviews are positive but that you simply can't like. I like to think that I'm an open-minded person but I just can't get either of these!

Renault Clio 200 (too big for a supermini, don't like the new nose, still have a bit of an anti-Renault prejudice)

mk2 Seat Leon Cupra/Cupra R (too MPVish, still looks too similar to the Altea/Toledo)

New Jaguar XJ (I loved the styling of the old XJ and appreciate that things need to move on but I still haven't learnt to like this)

Ford Mondeo/Skoda Superb (Fine in estate form but too big and slab-sided otherwise)

E90 BMW 3-Series (like the E46 and the new one from what I've seen but this is far too bland)

New BMW 5-Series (now its gone I really like the old E60 despite never liking it at the time, the new one isn't ugly but just huge and a bit dull and generic looking)

Audi A4 (too long!)

Audi A6 (looks too dull)

Any new Porsche bar the 911 (I loved some of the older non-911 Porsches - 928, 968, 944 etc but all the modern ones are either too bland or ugly IMHO despite being great cars by all accounts).

So what cars that are generally well regarded do you not like and why?

What car do you drive?
I have the Clio 200 - my gripes about it are lack of air con and that's about it I think.

My MX5.

Bentley Continental GT.

Most of Aston Martin's current line up (I know, I know, my eyes clearly don't work, but I just can't bring myself to like them).

Porsche 911's.
They're universally adored by the motoring press and car enthusiasts and yet they simply don't appeal to me.

yes I have no urge whatsoever to own any Mercedes. I'm not sure why, they're probably good cars.

Well. Except the C63 AMG, but thats the only one I like!

Porsche 911. Any of them, I can admire the GT3 RS etc but I don't like them.

I'm going to get hounded for this but the Integra Type-R DC2. Test drove one, expected it to be "an event" like the motoring press said, didn't experience that. I guess more modern cars have spoilt me. I've been eying up turbo'd cars ever since.

Any BMW with an X in the name
Any Audi with a Q in the name
Any Mercedes with Mercedes in the name

I am sure they are very capable, comfortable and have no larger a proportion of cock drivers than any other make and model, but I would still rather pluck my eyes out with a rusty fork and replace them with pickled onions, than own any of them.

There's plenty of good cars that I just don't get on with. It's not that they are bad, just that they don't do it for me.

I include the Clio 197 Sport. Not a bad car and the seats are great but leaving the rest of the cheap interior out of it, it just didn't appeal to me.

Fiesta ST. Plenty of power in a small car with a good chassis but the engine feels like it's from the middle of the range Mondeo (which I know it is) rather than a more bespoke hot hatch engine. Seating position was far too high too.

I drive the boring E90 but to me it drives much better than any other cars I've driven in that sector.

Lexus IS200 bought as a commuter. It was totally reliable but so bland to drive it extinguished your will to live.
