Petrol prices in other countries
Discussion
I am currently in Abu Dhabi. I filled the car up with petrol (95 RON) this morning. It cost me about £12.
I then listened to the news on the radio where I heard that the UAE have the 3rd most expensive petrol out of all the Gulf states, so the government will be reducing the price to fall in line with other Gulf states. This means a reduction in the cost of petrol at the pumps of up to 60%.
I felt like shedding a tear when I heard that. I'm flying back on Friday. My car is pretty much empty, it's going to cost me around £90 to fill it up.

Seriously? Petrol is massively subsidised here (I am in Dubai) if you didn't already know, it has been increased by about 50% here over the last 2 years or so. Can't see it getting reduced anytime in the future, rather getting more expensive if anything.
Unless that only applies to ADNOC.
It is nice though, even with the increase I can't squeeze more than 18 quid in my Mustang

It was on the news this morning, Radio 2. The FNC have already signed it off.

And yes I've been here enough in the last year to know it's subsidised and supposedly on the rise. I was also surprised.

I would also like to add that I have just bought a box of 48 packets of polos for approximately £3.30
Isn't Lulu wonderful
Apart from the fact you can't buy alcohol there.

I wouldn't trade 'freedom' for cheap petrol.

I prefer to have both freedom and cheap petrol...or 'gasoline'
Me too which is why I lived in Texas and will be going back there when this assignment finishes.......I also don't like taxes
News to me that you can buy booze in Lulu (talking about Dubai)- of course I know about the infidel section. Always struck me as a bit odd, eating a bacon butty with a beer while surrounded by mosques with the call to prayer belting out.

Struck me as odd when I was down in Al Ain last year and there were Emiratis sat at the bar at lunch time downing pints of Fosters
