Triumph TR6 - like a Porsche?!?
Discussion
Is a TR6 like a Porsche? I ask this because Hannah showed some pictures of my car to her workmates, and they googled TR6s. The workmates said they preferred the TR6 because it was like a Porsche!! Well I suppose it's a sportscar...
I'm sure as fellow car bores you understand my annoyance at this. they also referred to the TR as a "Triumph TR6 M3". Presumably because the first car that came up was the M3 engined TR6...
Cool story bro etc etc...

You bought a TR6?

You know how much I love TR6's (I'm sure 'cos I've said it enough)
Forget silly work comments I want pics and spec (150 / 125 / Carb fed?)
Oh and TR6's are farrrrr too cool to be anything like a Porsche (I should know, I've owned a few Porsches in my lifetime and now am in love with Triumphs)

Haha I wish! they ended up looking at other Triumphs, and stumbled across the TR6. They then decided they preferred it to the 2000 for the above reason. I'm really sorry to disappoint you

Male but not real men then...
I can't think of a car that looks less like a Porsche.
Indeed
I can't think of a car that looks less like a Porsche.

I went into "hyper-nerd" mode and pointed out that the Porsches of the era were either rear engined with Flat 4 or 6 cylinder engines, or mid-engined with again flat 4 or 6 engines. They are engineers, I thought they would appreciate some nerdiness. Unless there was some sort of bluff fronted Porsche that had a straight 6 up front that somehow we don't know about.

Well, Dr Porsche did design (or had a hand in) the pre-Second World War Mercedes SS/SSK models which were somewhat bluff fronted and straight six powered. Not likely to be confused with a TR6 mind you.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
