Afternoon,

I currently drive a corolla.

Despite what the moaners say, i enjoy the 2zzge and its granny wagon looks.

My car is nearing 95k and despite spending money replacing and upgrading parts, its becoming tired and I don't wish to keep wasting money.

Petrol costs aren't really an issue as i do less than 10k per year.
Practicality isn't an issue, so 2 seaters are considered.
I like revs, lazy turbo stuff doesn't interest me.
I want at least 200bhp and it to be fun in the twisties.

Current thoughts lean to a corolla compressor - has the extra umph my car is lacking
350z seems to tick most boxes
z4 could never own, one apart from the z4m
s2000 - insurance is very steep
m3 - bork factor is unnerving as are inspection 2 services
330ci - not special enough
Subaru - just doesn't excite.
Lengum vr4 - manual seems difficult to find

I just want a reliable car thats got decent poke for about 5k. cheers chaps

Cheap and probably mildly borked Boxster or a very good RX8 or waft about for the summer in an XK8 or a really good wedge V8 TVR,run it for a year and get your money back on one of them?

yes

Or a DC2 Integra. Rx8 is a very good call too given your criteria.

Ep3 Type r isn't quick enough. Would be a sideways move but with increased insurance.
Since fitting new springs and proper arb the granny wagon can keep up with them all day long.

Dc2's are getting a bit long in the tooth.

350z is really appealing. A decent step up in performance and not another fwd hatch.

These are just coming into your budget smile

As are Clio 197s, but they'll be due a £5-600 cambelt service
