Does anybody ever look through the classifieds in their local paper these days?

I did this evening, and frankly was astounded. In this week's Rugby Advertiser we have:
  • 1975 MGB GT
  • 1969 Morris 1000
  • 1990 Merc w124 saloon
  • 1964 Rover 95
  • 1988 911 3.3 Turbo
All for sale for less than £5k (except the Porsche, which is a bit under £10k). There was also the usual brace of MX-5s, Pumas etc.

I've no idea if they are any good, or worth the money. They may not be your cup of tea, they certainly aren't all mine, but they are a lot more interesting than the usual Vectras and Mondeos than I was expecting.

Anything interesting in your local rag?

Well, the only 'decent' thing in this week's Ilford Recorder

Mk 2 Ford Granada 2.8 GL for £2300

Other than that, Daewood's, Fiesta's and Micra's.

"MG F VVC 1.8 in silver, 9 months MOT, £695"

"Ford P100 plus hard top, 1991, no rust, £550"

Hmmm

I dont normally look but i did today by chance. Saw a volvo s80 with full sevice history, alloys, leather etc plus 12months tax and ticket for £875. I imagine that the milage is something in the millions as it isnt stated in the ad but still seems like a great car for the money.

Well, give the nice man a call, it's 01304 363352 (after 6pm) - Dover. Advert also states price is ovno and "very good working order"

Every P100 I've ever seen has been rust coloured with paint highlights.

If that P100 is even half decent then it's a bargain. Values are definitely on their way up

That Porsche advert has got to be fake or an error on the price

Well in the Nailsea, Clevedon and Portishead Times we have a Porsche 944 for £500 (with suspected HGF) or for £375 you could have a 21 year old Volvo 440 with "no computers"
