So my Speed 6 is in for MOT and it has passed on everything apart from emissions...

Last prior to having the car MOT'd I took it for a service at TVR Power and Dom removed one of the cats as it had collapsed inside the pipe.

Car then passed MOT at the time no issue

Now I have been lazy and taken it to my local indy MOT place. Have called to say it is failing on emissions and that CO is particularly bad. Their equipment is indicating the cats.

I told them at least one has been removed and they are now saying it HAS to be put back?

Any thoughts on this? Am I right in thinking Cerberas (S6) are always a nightmare to get through emissions??

I could just take it to where it was mot'd last time?? Anyone know price on cats for Speed 6 if it come to this?

Cheers

Simon

That's the new MOT rules, it's changed from "decats are OK as long as it passes" to "cats must remain"

can you borrow a cat from anyone?

Had a similar issue with a skyline, and managed to borrow a cat after asking around a few forums and handing over a few beers.

Find a "TVR friendly" MOT station.

I thought it was the case that only one pipe had to pass the emissions test? I don't know how a SP6 is plumbed, but my AJP8-engined Cerb had two completely separate exhausts (until Joospeed fitted the link pipe, that is).

It is just one pipe, the tester gets to choose which one (usually closest to the machine)
