Terrible drivers
Discussion
Having got a real job at the end of last year (unfortunately) I am now travelling an hour too and from work every day. It's usually fine with a bit of stop and go and the usual congestion. But occasionally I am astounded by how bad some of the driving is. Today was one of those days.
I don't profess to being a great driver but (on the commute at least) I am sensible and courteous. This morning I met my arch nemesis just prior to Glasgow Airport on the motorway. A silver Renault Laguna pulled into the fast lane behind me and proceeded to sit what cant have been more than a few inches off my bumper, despite the fact that there were 4 or 5 cars in front of me. I sat and put up with it as the outside lane crept past the inside until he saw an opportunity on the inside as we approached the airport. He pulled alongside me, rolled down his window, and threatened to throw his can, of supermarket's own energy drink, at my car for not pulling over. After a few seconds of this he realised he was about to catch up with the lorry in front and pulled into my lane. If I hadn't dropped the anchor at that point we'd have had a pretty serious accident at 65ish mph.
Where do these people get this kind of aggression from? He then did the same to the car in front before pulling in and getting stuck, at which point we all passed him again anyway. Absolute moron. Thought I would vent on here rather than getting worked up about it, I'm sure he'll get what's coming to him. Took the registration but thought better of complaining.

The general standard of driving is going the same way as society in general these days....downhill!!!
I agree 100%. Manners seem to be a thing of the past be it on the road or not.About a year ago i started to get frustrated by the amount of BMW and Audi drivers that NEVER touched their indicators. I would follow several on my commute involving changing lanes, juntions and round abouts and not once did many of them bother to reach for the stalk.
Sadly its just getting worse IMO. It seems Mondeo and Corsa drivers feel if its good enough for a BMW/Audi driver its good enough for them. My 30 minutes on the A14 now is spent second guessing morons that swing between lanes with no consideration for whats behind them or letting anyone else know what the hell they are playing at.
My rant over for the

Meh. Both shoing poor driving to some extent. Nothing in the highway code about moving back accross "unless there is cars in front going slower than you want to". The highway code says you should pull back in to lane 1 if you can. Not that I don't do it, and I understand why people do. It's also nothing new. There have always been ideots on the road.
However that it no excuse for dangerous driving. Throwing a can out of a window in an M-way? It could have killed someone. What if it had hit a bike or someone in a soft top, or just made someone swerve?
