Tiptronic automatic advice/help?

Hello. I currently use a 2004 Audi A6 3.0 quattro Sport Avant with the 5-speed Tiptronic automatic gearbox as a daily runabout. It has 75k miles on the clock.
It's been great so far but occasionally when i start it all the P-R-N-D-S are highlighted on the dash, as if all the gears are selected and when i put it into drive there was a bit of a 'thud'. I put it back into park and switch it off and on and then it is completely fine again driving and starting normally. This has happened twice with the car and once when i didn't realise i set off and it wouldn't come out of 1st gear. i did the switch off/on thing and it was fine.
There has been about 300-400 miles between each of them happening and otherwise it's been a great drving car with the box fine.
Just wondering if this is something terminal or just a slight hiccup that is common. Any advice would be appreciated.
