The O/H has just called me saying she cant get the boot on her 2000 SLK to close, I cant go have a look as she is in Sulhampsted and I am in Milton Keynes! Also she has the roof down and cant put it up without the boot being closed. Anyone know of any common faults that may cause this? She says its the boot latch that isnt catching.

Cheers in advance

Does it close fully, just not lock shut? If it doesnt close fully it could be the locking mechanism that has clicked shut, open the mechanism by hand and it should work. (If that makes any sense?)

She hasn't left a key in the boot somewhere? I know the SL wouldn't close with a key in the boot but that did have keyless go.

Is the boot seperator in place correctly? It might be detecting something amiss with a sensor and so won't close properly. Anything trapped or over the roof (I know it's in the boot)

Other than that ??????
