Work mate has just bought a t4 vw thing. Not my cup of tea but very capable vehicle. He's going round insulating and whatnot the interior and has got this grey carpet stuff to trim the boards and glue onto te interior metalwork. Sounds awful but looks very tidy and quite OEM. the problem he has is that where the sliding window panels are he doesnt have anything to close it in with or act as a final trim.

Has anyone here done anything like this and if so what's the best thing to use? It looks really good apart from the trim thing which now looks like it's missing round the window where the carpet is trimmed up to.

How about something like this:

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/...

would have to stick it to the smooth surface then carpet up to it. Not sure how tight a flat curve you'll get on it though.

Tell him to look on the t4 forum. There are pages and pages of people insulating and carpeting their vans.

I ended up making my own window trims from MDF and carpeting them in carpet from mega van mats.
