Went with a colleague yesterday to view a new Toyota Aiygo mainly for moral support.

What discount should we realistically have achieved on a Fire + Aircon, book price £10,490 with 0% finance & £100 for her dead 12 year old corsa ?

I'm now feeling like I should have pushed for more.

If both parties are happy then it's a good deal. No point in worrying about it now.

£100 part ex? Its worth more than that to weigh it in!

Winds me up these part chop "offers".

Fella at work panicked when his K series Rover had a touch of the HGF.

Went and bought a 56 plate petrol Skoda Fabia from a local indy dealer, and they gave him....

...nothing for his old car. (He is a bit naive in the ways of the world.)

I know it's an easy way to get rid of a millstone, but it smells.

We should set up a section of the forum where people can post their actual part-ex offer, and see if anyone is willing to match it. At least then you know that you've either prolonged the life of the car, or just helped a like minded individual out.

You can get a 2012 one from Motorpoint for about £8799. Or a 2011 for circa 7k.

What Car? Target price £9753 for what it's worth.

Normally I'd have said at least 10%, but don't the Citroen versions of that car go for £7k?

>£10k seems a very high sticker price for an Aygo.

What Car suggests £9,425 for Fire+AC but IMHO it still seems dear.

Pull out of the deal and renegotiate or go elsewhere?

Colleague needed the car asap, the 0% finance was the deal breaker for her & the corsa was worth nothing but scrap to be fair, not sure what a corsa would weigh in at.

final price was £10,190, so no didn't get a good deal.

You're feeling right

£300 discount isn't much.

Moral of the story............always do your homework
