I'm thinking Audi R8?

I guess the options are the R8, a Ferrari 360, a 911 GT3, Honda NSX or an aston V8 vantage.

The brief is it must be up to daily use, I've owned garage queens in the past & you just end up never using the buggers!

The problem with the Ferrari & Aston are there is no dealer/servicing specialist near me (nearest probably an hour away) & I'd feel a bit self conscious driving them to work.

The Porsche would mean realisticly getting a 996 for the price & I think they look st with their crappy headlights, though I could be swayed scratchchin the 997 that I much prefer are really above the 50 grand limit.

A Honda NSX would be lovely but their are never any for sale!

Anything else? Manual gear change is a must!

confused

997 prices are hovering around the £25k level at the older end. Plenty of choice for under your budget, and probably more of an all rounder than a R8 imo.

Yeah as stated I'd only have a gt3 though-can't be done with the chocolate engines in the standard carrera

Interesting choice actually but with doubts over lotus's future I wouldn't go there. No local dealers either.

As said I want a manual. Love them & I've driven many ring laps in my mates but I wouldn't have one myself smile

Hmm... didn't realise R8 dropped below 50k mark now biggrin

I've test drove the V8 R8 manual and the V10 RTronic and I personally think the V8 is a little bit slow... however it's still no slouch and the engine sound is just amazing straight out of the factory!!!

The nsx would be perfect as would a noble imo. You could buy a very nice used m5 for that money

Great shout, I love these things.

I'd have one of these though, and keep some of the change for running costs.
