Hi all,

I'm sorry for the trivial question but I've been hearing different advices and hopefully someone could help clear this out. I usually renew my car road fund license online when I am sent the reminder. I find this quick and easy. My car is under 3 years old so usually I do not need to submit any MOT doc information.

However, in 2 months time my car will be over 3 years old so I will need my first MOT. Should I get the MOT done just before the road fund license is due for renewal and then just wait for the postal notification? Will I be able to renew online this way automatically or do I need to do something for the first MOT renewal?

I have never run into this situation before as this is the first car I've owned that's come up to its first MOT.

Thank you!

Ah nice one. So if I get the MOT done will this get automatically updated on the DVLA online website the next time I renew my road fund license?
