Hi. Random request, I'm afraid.

A building I've rented for the last few years is being demolished. I did a deal with the demolition contractors to reclaim some large steel doors (about 3m x 4m) in their frame. Unfortunately the timescales have got cocked up (basically the building started to demolish itself a little faster than they were planning, so the doors fell out of the wall...), and so the deal has got rather compromised. The doors are now flat on the deck, and the site isn't very large so they're in the way of the demolition crew.

In order to save the doors - which are to be reused for an arts project - I ideally need to find somebody with a HiAb to help out for an hour tomorrow morning at about 7:30 / 8:00 am in London E1. The job is just to lift the doors to enable dismantling, then moving the 'sub-assemblies' about 50m up the road. Of course I can pay for this service but, at this time of night, I don't know where to try. If I can't find any assistance then the doors will get cut up for scrap, deal or no deal, which would be a huge shame; they've already got a little dinged by the demolition crew today.

I was going to try to dismantle them tonight myself with tools, a hand winch, etc., but the *deleted" demolition guys let them face up on the deck, so no chance of getting that done, hence why this is such a late post.

These are the doors, featuring artwork by artist 'Ink Fetish'.

Can anybody suggest an avenue for assistance at this late stage? [/desperation]

Thank you very much, both. I've managed to round up a few tentative offers of help from burly people. Let's see what happens. Good tip on Leyland; will give them a call and see if they can help.
