I am looking to purchase one of the above at around the £3000 -3500 mark.
Can anyone help in regards areas of concern when busying such a car. Leaking is not an issue as it will be housed over the winter wet months or all the year round if the last week is anything to go by!!!!

Any help would be great

Spridget buyer's guide. Originally written for the Midget, but they're near enough identical, the differences are only cosmetic iirc.

Rust everywhere. Sod the mechanicals, my 3year old daughter could fix them and parts are cheap - worry about getting one with a solid body and chassis other wise its a life sentence of welding and re-spraying I'd try and go for a 1275 as they are tuneable and parts are readily available - Look at midgets too as identical car (avoid the 1500 if you can - its not bad just not as good as the 1275)- unless you were meaning a frogeye sprite?

Listen to the sound of first gear - they often become steadily noisier until a recon 'box is the only answer.

Indeed, but once fixed it's good. The tin-worm is a bigger worry.
