Asymmetric Speed Limits
Discussion
Same on the bottom of the M11, the Southbound 50 limit starts well before the transition from 50->NSL Northbound. But with two separate carriageways it's effectively two roads; I wonder if there are any single-carriageway roads with different speed limits in each direction? I'm thinking maybe of something where it's uphill in one direction and downhill in another, or a three lane single-carriageway road with two lanes in one direction and one in the other.

M60 near Stockport - clockwise is 50 mph, other direction is nsl.
My first pistonheads post, hello all!
True, but they dont exactly trace the same course. The anti clockwise sections bend is a lot more forgiving than the clockwise. My first pistonheads post, hello all!
Plus its a very odd junction, going anti clockwise from stockport you join the motorway in the outside lane (usually behind someone joining at 40-50 mph). I think it's unique in England? Happy to be wrong though.

some years ago on the slip road of the Hanger Lane gyratory going onto the A40 Westbound (which was 40mph through the underpass and for a few 100yds thereafter) the slip road showed a 30mph limit. Luckily this did become the inside lane making it three lanes, so it didnt cause much stress!!
