i recently got my first car and not very good with electronics, i was wondering if it was possible to disconnect the two back speakers and put two small subwoofers in there place with the standard wiring, just change the speakers for the woofers, and keep the front as it is. will the subwoofers be less powerful ? would it lower the power of the two front speakers ?

thanks

No, the headunit will not be powerful enough, and will send the full range of frequencies, which the subs will not be able reproduce properly.

It won't work. The speakers currently in place are either. 2 way or 3 way, sub, mid, treble. You need to split the signal, involves crossovers and amps.

I recommend heading off over here www.talkaudio.co.uk for some advice. There is a lot of expertise amongst the forum.
