I'm going to say mk2 Polo, possibly post facelift, going by the headlamps. Note the wheel arch detail, and the door handle detail. Those wheels are also a dead giveaway. It also looks slabby enough to be an old polo

100% sure it's a vw polo of the coupe variety. Used to work for vw in that era, the front steel wheel gives it away.
