Came across this when out mountain biking tonight. Still non the wiser as to what it is, very old anyway. It's tiny. Old 8v engine, front wheel drive, must of had a round emblem on the back, that's about it.

mk2 Astra was my guess. Is that a red top engine? Are we talking GSI?

Yep agreed, Mk2 Astra. Wheels don't give much away... two different steelies. Coluld be anything from a 1.2 to a 2.0 8v GTE I suppose.

First couple of posts are right, it's definately wearing Vauxhall steelies.

Pull it out and weight it in.

Rear wiper position looks more like a mk3 astra I think

Mk2 Astra doesn't have those vents in the bonnet though does it?

Mk3 is what I thought. Rolled/lip on rear arch.

Not an Astra. The fuel filler is in the wrong place

It's right for a Nova though

I'm going to say mk2 Polo, possibly post facelift, going by the headlamps. Note the wheel arch detail, and the door handle detail. Those wheels are also a dead giveaway. It also looks slabby enough to be an old polo

100% sure it's a vw polo of the coupe variety. Used to work for vw in that era, the front steel wheel gives it away.

Ha ha funny but this one has different wheels lol, that the car tho.
