Hi everyone, couldn't get any replies from the Ford Owners club and nobody seems to be able to help, although i havent taken this to a garage yet as id rather fix it myself.

The heating is stuck on inside my Fiesta - hot air blows through all vents regardless of where I set the dials. The blower and heating control panel works fully still, but hot air is coming in even with the blower off. I did a bit of research but could only find info on this problem on the previous mark of Fiesta - the common issue was with the heater control valve. However, I can't see a HCV in the place I would expect on my Fiesta (two inlet pipes near bulkhead but no valve before bulkhead). Can anyone shed any light on what may be at fault here? Is it the HCV and where is it located? Or could it be something else?

Very grateful for any advice, want to get this fixed before another heatwave arrives.

(Also of note, the faster i'm going, the hotter it gets).

It might just be the connection between the control and the heater matrix.
I have no idea about the what/how/why but my mate has a Focus and it did the exact same thing.
He is a mechanic, so he was able to source the part and fix it but it was fiddly.
For a couple of weeks he had the choice of full heat or full cold, not sure how he was doing that though.

It's not under the windscreen scuttle panel is it? Drivers side? HCV

Thanks, best feedback ive had so far. I'll check under the scuttle panel. Hopefully it's easy to remove.

If I was feeling lazy, any guesses how much a garage would charge?

Garage will prob look at an hour to one and a half for labour at whatever their rate is.

Did a Ka recently and it cost me a sticky plaster on a scraped and bleeding knuckle smile

Cheers mate.

Was it the same issue i have? Could you outline what you did, if so? If you have time that is. If not, thanks anyway. Shouldn't be too difficult to work out.

Yep it was just chucking out hot air non-stop. Air-con now perfect.

Pop wipers off, take off plastic scuttle panel and unclip pipes from the valve. Mark them so you put them back on the right bits smile

Take the old valve out, bolt the new one in, reconnect. Job's a good un.

There will be probably be a bit of fiddling around some pipes/wiring, I unclipped a few bits to make access to the valve easier.

While you have the scuttle off get in and clean out any debris/leaves etc and lube the wiper mechanism just for the sake of doing it while it's accessed.

It's an easy job, just a tad fiddly so take it steady and all will be fine within the hour smile

I think the valve itself is only about £30? Definitely do-able with a small tool kit

Thanks a lot for the detailed reply. Hopefully changing the valve will do the trick then. Will give it a crack and post back results.
