How can I tell if my old car is still on the road ?

Hi

When I was a kid we had a 1972/73 1303S Beetle and every now and again I wonder if it's still going or perhaps been turned into (rusty) razor blades. reg was YWA 800M

What is the best way to determine it's fate ?

A no-cost option is to put your Reg No into a parts site, eg 24/7 Parts as if you are looking for spares. If the car ID comes up it is still extant.

Last tax disk ran out on 01/03/1988 so would guess its fairly much done for now. Also on the direct gov site it shows as 1600cc no make or model though

If it's that old there is a chance (slim one mind) that it's in a shed somewhere, since it wouldn't need to be SORNed. More likely it's been turned into beer cans though.
