After the sale fell through on the Ibiza i have seen a nice golf mk4 tdi. Its 51 reg standard but has got a pd150 turbo/intercooler, straight through exhaust etc and is running 190bhp. Can people tell what the spec will be like? 0-60, top speed, mpg? also is i send the turbo away for hybrid is it just a matter of fitting it back on and remap?

Thanks

You want us to guess 0-60, mpg and top speed on a modified car none of us has ever seen?

Ok.

0-60, 3.3 seconds.
74 mpg.
Top speed 187 mph.

MPG will probably be around 40mpg, could be more but it depends on how good the remap is. Also, it sounds like it has been driven hard (only guessing, as it's got a straight through pipe + remap) so make sure there is no unwanted smoke when started.

Interms of performance, I have no idea. The 150pd does a sprint to 60 in 8.5 seconds (I believe) and with a remap it would have make that quicker, but it is very hard to tell. The main thing is the mid range torque will have increased and this is where a diesel is very good.

It is worth having a google on the camshaft problem with the pd150, as they have a tendency to munch their way through them

Here's a calculator for modified cars, obviosuly it's not going to be 100% accurate, but should give you some idea;

http://www.torquestats.com/modified/index.php?pid=...

MPG wise, I'd expect it to be capable of similar to standard, but if you're making the best use of the power expect it to drop dramatically.

I'm convinced that there are people in the world who will believe those stats to be not far out.

You haven't told me about what matters in the real world rather than on the race track.
