Picked up a new runabout 4 months ago shod in 4 matching, nearly new P6000's. Since completed 3000 + miles in all weathers (even 5 inches of snow) and never crashed or died once yet. Not even nearly.

I'm sure I had these on my XJR and they were woeful.

Depends on the car/driving style perhaps.

They are crap on heavy RWD cars, but ok on something like a Focus. Not very hard wearing.

They were crap on my Corsa (factory fit). A unique blend of tramlining, sudden loss of traction that couldn't be regained in the wet, and an amazing ability to wear like fury which is usually a sign of a good gripping tyre.

Rubbish.

All that said, I have Pirelli P7 on my Astra, and they're supposed to be as bad as the P6000, but so far they've been pretty good.

I predict this thread with consist of the following

1. People pointing you to the incumbent P6000 thread, which is filled with a thousand tirades of people slating the tire.
2. Responses here from people saying that 'there's nothing wrong with them, blah blah'
3. The inevitable person who says 'i bought a linglong x600 swan of precious friction' tyres for 3p and I've done 100k on it and it grips better than R888s on a hot track.'

Frankly, we need more 'epic poo' threads.

When I bought my last E30 the guy pointed out the matching set of tyres and said "she likes P6000s on her".

I trailered it to a track and then smoked the tyres to death with about 15 minutes of driving, with a pause to change the rear wheels, and with a pair of sticky marangonis on the front. I suspect he would have been a little upset.

They seemed like tyres to me, nothing particularly good or bad about them.

This doesnt make them good tyres. Really, it means that youre a particularly undemanding driver.
