Sorry to do another insurance topic, but I'm in a bit of a bind. I'm looking to buy a Jeep but although I want to pick it up ASAP I don't want to fully insure it for another couple of months (when my current car goes out of cover). I have tried tempcover.com and this is where it gets bizarre. For quotes for full insurance for a year (on comparison sites), the jeep is several hundred less than a discovery 1 to insure. But whilst tempcover can give me a days cover on a disco for £40 they are unable to quote me on the jeep!?!
Can someone please help with an alternative?

Thanks, Matt

have you asked your current insurers if they can add this car to your policy on a temporary basis, my insurers (adrian flux) did this for me the car before last i bought although this was only for 1 month, its worth asking though

yes I've been doing this whilst my usual car is broken. Temp cover on a second car is extremely cheap.

I'm paying £48 for 4 weeks cover on a 106 GTI (£624/yr equivelent) it would cost me at least double this to insure the car on its own policy. Cheap cheap cheap smile

Thanks for the advice! I'll ring my insurers and see how much money/ritual sacrifice they want to add a purchased car temporarily
