Hi all,

I've recently moved to Stockholm. Originally I intended to keep my C32 AMG but transferring a rhd to Swedish registered seems a massive hassle and I'd probably lose a fair bit when time comes to sell (not to mention a powerful rwd is not much good in snow).

My criteria is as follows:
Quick and quite powerful (I've been spoilt with the C32)
Seat 4 but doesn't need to be roomy in the back
Easy to drive (my fiancé will be sharing the car with me)
Do over 26mpg
Reliable
Four wheel drive and half decent in snow (we get a lot of Snow and I live at the top of a steep hill)
Boot big enough for a weekly shop
A little prestige (I am vain)
Not a BMW (I really like them but I've had 2 so time for a change)
Available in Sweden second hand for under (300,000SEK - about £29k in English) - though second hand car prices are a little higher here.

So far it narrowed it down to Golf R, A5 3.0TDi or V60 T6.

The Golf looks great fun and is quite quick, but it is a small car for the money. MPG not great. I do love the way it looks though and they are meant to be pretty good to drive.

The Audi looks good, nice interior, and quite quick. Don't know if I could live with with another diesel though despite the good MPG - I hate the noise they make.

The Volvo is quick, big and built for Sweden. Bit boring though.... And every second car is a Volvo here. Has a cool remote engine start function for the winter though!

Over to you... Let me know your opinions on the above and suggestions.

Thanks!

Jimbo.

What's with the Volvo love here?! I had an 850 T5 way back and that was an awesome car smile

I'd almost buy the Volvo for the remote start function alone.. though I'm thinking I should probably look at the bigger picture.

Anyone driven the T6? I'd be keen to hear some experiences about the above cars?

You've already bought it and are using the PH hive mind to justify the purchase? wink Tell me I'm wrong!

Volvo.

But an S60 R, and a few very nice holidays.

Or a 3.0 X-type Sport. Hit the English note.

R32 and winter tyres definately the better option. Volvo's are for pensioners and caravan owners.

Volvo will be an excellent car, 26mpg though? Remember taking an S60 T6 for a run and it averaged 9mpg lol

Realisticly if you are getting 9mpg average day to day I'd be more worried about your license if I were you wink
