Nice mileage wind back! Anywhere I can report this to stop some poor sod getting shafted?

Could be a mistake recording it if it has a 5-digit odometer...

I take it this corresponds with the mileage now on the car and it wasn't a mistake on the MOT certificate.

I say this as an MOT tester once read my trip computer and not the overall vehicle mileage on my 107.

I would say that the mileage is 207000 and they have just inputted it wrong at the time of test, unless the clocks are actually showing that mileage. Cheap second hand car sales attached to MOT stations normally set alarm bells ringing but that looks more like an input error.

Indicators not working on the prior MOT could mean that they ended up replacing the clocks with some second-hand ones for the last test. Not illegal, unless sold as having 106k mileage instead of the true mileage.

12,000 miles in 7 days? not very likely..!

It's an Octavia 'Classic' spec. Did anyone other than a Minicabber ever buy that?

Is it being sold by the garage then or a private individual?

So definitely clocked then. Unless the clocks have been changed for a legitimate reason. Very weird they chose to do it the day after a failed MOT...

The indicators would of been to do with the hazard light switch missing.

It could of had its clocks changed. VAG dashboards aren't reknowned for their longetivity.

Aren't the clocks coded to the car's ECU to stop this sort of shenanigans?

i would have thought it would have to have had a full ECU change etc to clock it. new cars these days have the mileage stored in loads of different places to ensure its pretty much impossible (or just impractically expensive) to clock them.

You haven't noticed the "mileage correction" services advertised in most motor magazines then ? Software + laptop + cable = easy way to make £££

what was interesting, dad said to the seller I'm not interested due to an issue with the mileage the guy simply shrugged his shoulders and said ok! If it was my car I would of wanted to know what the problem was.
