Grand Prix Traffic

First time at Silverstone GP this year, my usual trip to Silverstone is for track days and usually takes 90 mins or so in normal traffic. Is the traffic on raceday as horrible as legend has it... If I want to be inside the circuit by 10am on the Sunday what is a sensible time to allow for the jouney.. Many thanks.

It's a gamble, because for the past two years the traffic volume into Silverstone has tapered off after 10:30am. The busy period starts at about 7am, so if you want to be in before 10, allow about 1 - 1.5 hours to get from the M1 J15a into the circuit.

If you want to gamble, arrive at J15a at about 11am and drive virtually straight into the circuit, bearing in mind however that most 'good' car-parks will by then be full.
