Silly one this

My rear number plate bulb cover has come off (and is broken). The bulb still works but there is no cover. I know the MOT states that all lenses have to be secure but is this classed as a lense?

MOT is tomorrow!!

Thanks

If it still illuminates I think it should just be an advisory.

You can only have steady red light showing directly to the rear of a vehicle, so if the bulb itself can be seen glowing from the rear of the car then rig up a temporary shield/cover if appropriate? (And make sure the number plate is still illuminated properly wink .)

http://www.motuk.co.uk/manual_110.htm refers smile .

I think it should be fine as long as only the transparent bit is missing.

Just to update you. It passed with no mention of it smile

Thanks for the advice, I didn't really want to try and bodge something at the 11th hour.
